Join us for the Amity Gardens Neighborhood Association Annual Meeting and Election at Eastern Hills Baptist Church on Tuesday, September 8th at 7 p.m. (Join us at 6:45 PM to meet the current and incoming board members)
You can access the church via Pierson Drive, just past the Independence Blvd. overpass.
It’s that time of year again for our annual association meeting and elections. This year, the association board is also proposing changes to the bylaws, which need to be approved by the voting members. To conduct our election, we must have a minimum of ten voters present.
A fee of $10 is required per member to ensure active status and voting eligibility. We will hold a brief meeting, lasting no longer than an hour, to facilitate the elections of the board of directors, discuss the bylaw changes, and talk about the function of the board and the current state of the neighborhood, much of which has been outlined in this newsletter.
Proposed Bylaw Changes Include:
Minor clarifications regarding neighborhood boundaries and treasurer responsibilities.
Requiring that association funds be spent only through reimbursements to board members after approved expenditures.
To mitigate liability, association funds will not be permitted for purchasing alcoholic beverages.
Transitioning to two-year terms for elected board members, effective immediately.
